LOVEE <33

I really truely believe that you must go into a field that you love. After my experience with school and life, I have learned that I love to teach. Overall this stemmed from working with children for the longest time. After days and days of babysitting when I was only 12 years old, and moving on to be a tutor for students, and helper for young children with special needs I realized that I want to teach. I was in school for business, but no matter what the cost, I will pursue my teaching career. I always said when I was younger and in high school that I would never be a teacher. Now look where I am. I love to coach and love to do anything with young children.

Make sure you love what you do! Or get out of it!

Fllow Up On Children Needing Activities Outdoors!

After reading the article on children not being active, I followed up looking into ways to get your children to be active. I found a great site on what to do with inactive children. I usually do not like to listen to Oprah but I found this site had a lot of great ideas and I like the ways they are presented.

Some of the ideas that were on the site include going on a walk to a nature center or nearby park. I listed below a couple more ideas that I have...

1. Getting your child involved on a sports team.
2. Taking children to summer camps on specific topics they show interest in.
3. Going to a nearby zoo or park.
4. Finding a friend to try and participate in these activities with.

I Found a Great Article About Children Not Going Outside Anymore!

I really enjoyed this short article I found on the new activities and norms of children. I know when I was younger I went outside all the time and was very active. (Everyone back then was!) Now, I feel as though children are not as active as they should be. Kids never go outside, and instead play video games and are addicted to their technological devices. It really bothers me to see no children outside in the neighborhood. Kids need to stay active in order to stay healthy. I believe that there are going to be a lot of health problems that may be indirectly related to the uprise in techonology.

Anyways... here is the article!!

Enjoy!!

Second Life

A tool that I would recommend using to help students be more interactive in a classroom is Second Life. This is an online world where people can talk, and do much more. Students can create an Avatar for free and do many different things in this world. There are stores, clubs, and everything possible. The main thing I want to focus on is the ability to make an online classroom, and use second life to teach students. Students can meet at certain times for class and either type or talk online through the program. I recommend exploring the site.

The disadvantages to this site is that there is no control of what others do on the site. You would need to get into a private room. A lot of strange people go on second life, therefore you have to be careful who you talk to on there. Also, there are some inapropriate outfits and activities. Like I said, the class must be old enough and mature to handle this experience.
